Extensive research in prehistoric stone sites around the western world, Sardinia/Sicily/Italy/Scotland/Eire/Orkneys/Corsica/Brittany/Malta/Yugoslavia,
give me a solid foundation for stone sculpture through a search for the “stone” memories within us.  Rather than copying images/forms from early civilizations each MCC stone sculpture remains unique unto itself. 

Preparation for a career in painting was formed by growing up in San Francisco and spending a complete childhood within the museums freely playing among the great art of the world.  MCC’s fascination with the wide difference between the 2D & 3D use of form & color has only grown with time.  The current series of paintings of “Communion II” have isolated the male figures in 2 Dimensional space which is a new direction for this artist as is the simple use of line without any color for the children.
