Markings:
Verso: - old inventory numbers on the frame and on the panel- on the panel old adhesive labels as well as an old inscription attributing the work to Andrea del Sarto as well as provenance indications to "Lucca Gallery" and "Erisa (?) Gallery London". According to the inscription verso with the important indication to the "Lucca Gallery" the present panel belonged to the collection of Karl Ludwig of Bourbon-Parma (1799-1883), from 1824 to 1847 Duke of Lucca
