Canvas relined. Appears there have been multiple campaigns of restoration. Although UV light cannot completely penetrate the varnish layer, inpainting repairs visible to left edge, top edge, lower portion, including around Jesus's feet, his arm, clothing, behind his head, to Madonna's forehead, possibly her clothing, one of her fingers and a spot on her forehead. There are possibly old inpainting repairs to John the Baptist. Layer of surface dirt. Very faint craquelure. Frame with some losses, cracks, nicks and abrasions.
