Condition:

This work has been examined framed. Executed on burlap, not lined. There is a milky varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating. However examination under UV light appears to reveal a spot of retouching (approx. 5cm wide) and a few lines of retouching (the longest of which is approx. 15cm long) to the lower part of the left edge associated with repaired holes, repaired tears and patches on the reverse. There are a few additional spots and lines of retouching in places, notably to the centre of the left edge (associated with repaired tears), towards the upper part of the left edge, in the upper right quadrant and towards the lower right corner. There is some stable paint shrinkage in places, most predominately to the central figure. This work is in overall fairly good condition. The lot is sold in the condition it is in at the time of sale.
