Markings:
signed Goetz' and dated 45 (lower right)
Condition:
The canvas is not lined. There is a milky varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating. However examination under UV light appears to reveal one spot (approx. 3 cm wide) of retouching towards the upper part of the left edge, one additional smaller spot of retouching, possibly related to a repaired tear, to the center of the upper edge (approx. 2cm long), and a few additional small spots and lines of retouching in places, most predominately towards the center of the composition and along the extreme edges. There are a few scattered fly spots. There is some paint shrinkage in the blue pigment (approx. 14 cm from left edge and 20 cm from lower edge). There are a few small dots of paint losses in places, most predominantly to the pink and burgundy pigments (approx. 20 cm from left edge and 15 cm from lower edge). This work is in overall good condition.
