Condition:

Executed on canvasboard. The surface is slightly dirty. There is frame abrasion at the edges, with associated slight discoloration. A coat of lacquer has been applied to the canvas which has pooled in some places and has discolored brown, notably in the lower left quadrant and the figure's shoulder. Handling smudges to the upper left corner. Under UV: strokes of inpainting to the lower left and upper right of the striped towel. Further inpainting to the branch in the boy's hand. A further reading is obscured by the thick coat of varnish. Framed: 24½ by 31? in. (62.2 by 79.1 cm.)
