framed: 42¾ by 28¾ in.; 108. 5 by 73 cm The canvas is unlined and stable on its stretcher. The overall image reads well under a clear, glossy varnish. There is a small amount of lifting just to the left of the figure's head but it appears stable. Under UV inspection, the varnish appears evenly distributed with a line of previous restoration and retouching just above the figure's head across the canvas. The painting can be hung in its current state.
